Comprehensive Eye Exams
"The annual physical for eyes"
Evaluation of visual function and comprehensive eye health.
Includes an updated eyeglass prescription with a 60 day period to recheck the prescription if necessary.
Notes:
To obtain an accurate eyeglass prescription, cycloplegic eye drops may be indicated to prevent children from over-focusing during the refraction
Pupil dilation may be recommended by the doctor to provide a wider view of the interior of the eyes, which helps screen for retinal disease
Acute symptoms like eye pain, discharge, swelling, and sudden loss of vision/ double vision may warrant a medical office visit instead of a comprehensive eye exam.
Soft Contact Lens Exam
"Disposable lens options"
Updated eyeglass and contact lens prescription
includes diagnostic (trial) contact lenses and up to 3 follow-up care visits for 60 days
Includes vision and ocular health examination
retinal imaging (optional) is an additional fee
Patients who are new to contact lenses are required to take a class to learn how to insert, remove, and care for their specific contact lenses.
We use all major contact lens brands and offer options for spherical, astigmatism (toric), specialty colored, monovision, and multifocal contact lenses.
Please note that a contact lens exam is the comprehensive exam with a contact lens fitting evaluation.

RGP contact lenses are purchased separately at Costco

Medical Office Visit
"Something's wrong with my eyes recently"
Evaluation and treatment of acute ocular problems such as redness, pain/ irritation, discharge, floaters, and trauma.
Please call the office to determine how soon we should see you. Our online scheduler is only for routine exams for glasses or contact lenses.
Myopia Control
"My kid's vision is getting worse every year. Can we put the brakes on myopia?"
Program to slow down the progression of myopia (nearsightedness)
includes the fitting of specialty contact lenses and training on insertion and removal of contact lenses
1 year follow up care for myopia control is included
Contact lenses, eye drops, and supplemental eyeglasses are purchased separately.
Children will need to have a comprehensive eye exam with cycloplegic refraction prior to the contact lens fitting.
Pupil Dilation
"Bigger windows to better see inside the eyes"
This allows for a better visualization of the lens and retina and is great for checking conditions like cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment. The view of the interior of the eye is limited without a pupil dilation because the pupils constrict when the doctor shines the light to view the inside of eyes.
Eye drops are used to dilate the pupils. Pupil dilating drops come with side effects such as light sensitivity and blurred vision. If you (or your physician) would like this done, please plan ahead. The procedure can add about 20 minutes to your exam, and the duration of the side effects can be for many hours. We can provide dark lenses to help with the light sensitivity.
Optomap Retinal Imaging
"Better view of the inside of the eyes using a camera"
This allows for a quick and painless ultra-widefield imaging of the eyes. The patient looks through a hole and positions a circle in the center of his or her view. A flash is seen, and the photo is taken less than a second. The results can be reviewed right away. In many cases this can be done in lieu of the dilation, and in others, the doctor may use it as adjunct to the dilated retinal exam. The best part of this is that it becomes part of your permanent record, so when repeated over the years, the doctor can detect changes more easily and effectively.
Contact Lens Insertion and Removal Training
"Learn the proper way of using contact lenses"
This class teaches the how's and why's and the do's and don't's of contact lens wear.
Instruction on inserting and removing contact lenses with emphasis on lens care to be able to wear contact lenses safely and comfortably.
Discussion of recommended products to use with contact lenses, troubleshooting minor problems, and recognizing signs and symptoms of complications.
Includes a contact lens solution and case starter kit.
